BIOLOGY – CHEMISTRY – EARTH SCIENCES (BCST) PROGRAM

Program Objectives

The BCST program aims to train rigorous, independent, and competent students in scientific disciplines to prepare them for higher education in:

  • Medicine and Health Sciences
  • Engineering and Applied Sciences
  • Environmental Sciences
  • Biotechnology and Scientific Research

Subjects Taught

CORE SCIENCES

Biology: Understanding the living world and developing scientific and analytical thinking.

Chemistry: Analyzing matter and its transformations with scientific rigor.

Earth Sciences: Understanding the Earth, the environment, and natural phenomena.

Physics: Mastering the laws of matter, energy, and motion.

Mathematics: Develop logic, abstraction, and problem-solving skills.

Civic and Humanistic Education: Develop responsible and engaged citizens.

Supplementary Subjects:

Technology (ICT): Master digital tools and technological thinking.

Economics: Understand fundamental economic and social mechanisms.

French: Master’s written and oral communication in French.

English: Communicate effectively in an international context.

Kiswahili: Develop regional communication and cultural awareness.

Physical Education: Develop health, discipline, and teamwork.

Weekly Schedule

  • Classes run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • 45-minute lessons, up to 8 lessons per class per day;
  • 6 to 8 hours per week for each major science subject;
  • Alternating between lectures, tutorials, and supervised study sessions;
  • Study periods integrated into the timetable;
  • Breaks and recess respected.
